You can lose entire games because of the planes being shot down and crashing into your armies/vital units, and you have absolutely no control over it. You can call in recon planes, attack planes and etc for air support, but they can also be shot down. I don't care if a player get's screwed over because of bad choices, but a player shouldn't get ****** over something that he/she had no control over.Īn example of such RNG being completely unnecessary is in CoH2. If you're playing on Ironman Impossible and you want/need to go after a certain build/strategy, but RNG dictates that you research and acquisition something that won't help, you'll get completely screwed over. It's a horrible idea and I have no clue what Firaxis' thought process behind this was. As long as the rough paths are there and it is just the very end result that is random.

Some times we might get it first go other times it might be on the 4th.

Through trial and error you find new things on the way to the one you are after. but it might take a few goes to get it right. This new randomized way might open up that side of the game again if it is done right. You just click in the right order and don't even think about it. (400th play through ) it almost removes research from the game. I also like to plan out a research strategy but once you have that sorted. However if we are trying to get better grenades and get a shotgun. We know we want to make the grenades better but need to research them and not sure what we will uncover first. If there are 4 obvious research items for throwing grenade upgrades but the results are random I would be good with that. It will give a true trial and error feel to the research. I don't mind this idea but it all depends how it plays out.
